What you need
- empty toilet paper roll
- small piece of thicker card board (e.g. cookie box)
- decoration (either)
- leather looking vinyl or fabric that looks like leather or use real leather
- acrylic paint and sealer and optional puff paint for 3D effects
- glue (e.g. Elmer's glue)
- hot glue or super glue (super glue for Adults ONLY !!!)
- 3/8" wide ribbon if painting the quiver and not using vinyl/fabric/leather
- 1/4" x 1" piece of velcro (either glue it on or use self stick velcro)
How to make the quiver
1. Cut a 1" diameter circle from card board2. Take toilet paper roll and cut a vertical slit
3. Measure around card board circle and shorten to size (leave it a little larger, just in case)
4. Glue (super glue or hot glue) the to toilet paper roll around the circle.
After you have glued most of it, cut the roll to size if it is too large.
5. Take a piece of paper and glue it over the toilet paper seam to hold the ends together.
6. If you are not covering the card board with vinyl or fabric, go to step 11.
Else glue card board circle onto vinyl or fabric.
After glue has dried, cut out circle.
and is about 1/2" longer in height.
Mine was about 3 1/4" x 4 1/2"
8. Glue covering onto toilet paper roll, align it at the bottom and go past the top by 1/2"
(this picture shows 1/4", but it should be 1/2" for you)
If you are using real leather or anything that is really thick, just cut to top of roll and skip
the next step.
9. Fold excess towards the inside of the toilet paper roll and glue in place.
10. If you want, you can add strips of fabric/vinyl on top and bottom for decorations.
Decorate with permanent markers, puff paint, rhinestones or whatever you can dream up.
11. If you are painting the quiver instead of using fabrics, paint, decorate and seal your quiver now.
12. Create the shoulder strap
- if using vinyl or leather cut a strip 3/8" x 15"
- if using fabric, cut a strip 7/8" x 15" and fold both sides 1/4" lengthwise and sew.
- if using ribbon just cut a 15" piece
13. Glue the right side of the strap onto the back side of the quiver all the way from the top to
about 1 1/2" from the bottom.
14. Add velcro to strap ends, straps will be overlapping 1".
Rough velcro side onto bottom strap onto right side of the strap.
Smooth velcro side onto top strap onto wrong side of strap.
Your quiver is done !!!
