Witch costume for American Girl Doll

What you need

• Halloween colored fabric (7 1/4" x 43")
• black tulle (8 1/4" x 43")
• colorful fabric remnants for patches
• colorful thread (clashing colors with fabric remnants) for hand sewing
• double sided iron-on adhesive (Heat'n'Bond) for remnants
• 10" 1/4" elastic

How to make the skirt

1. Take skirt fabric and sew a 1/4" hem on one long side (fold up 1/4" then again 1/4")

 

2. Cut a few irregular small shapes from colorful remnant fabric and iron patches on skirt fabric.

3. Hand-stich with uneven stitches around the border of the patches.

4. Lay black tulle on wrong side of skirt fabric, aligning  with un-hemmed skirt fabric.
   Tulle should stick past the hemmed skirt part.

5. Make a 1/2" hem as a casing for the elastic (fold up 1/4" then 1/2").
    Make sure you fold up skirt fabric and tulle.

6. Insert elastic, pin both ends

7. Sew short fabric sides together, including elastic.

Gymnastics spring board for American Girl Doll

What you need

• chip board or heavy cereal or cookie card board
• felt 11 1/2" x 5" in color of your choice (I used dark blue)
• Elmer's glue
• Duck tape or electrical tape color of your choice (I used white duck tape)
• 1/2" foam piece (1" x 3 1/4")

How to make the spring board

1. Cut 2 pieces of chip board 5" x 3 3/4"

2. Glue chip board on felt leaving a 1/4" gap between the two chip board pieces

3. If you want, you could cut the felt to the outside of the chip board.
    Or you can fold and glue the sides inwards (I just cut it)

4. Cut 2x   3/8" wide 7" long strips from duck tape and wrap around  one of the board pieces
   (going to be the top piece) 1/2" from the top and 1/2" from the bottom
 

5. Glue foam piece to the bottom piece (without tape) to the end, about 1/2" in

6. Fold spring board up (piece with the tape) and glue to foam

Gymnastics mat for American Girl Doll

What you need

• costume pleather fabric (like a rain coat)
• 1/2" foam or multiple layers of quilters batting (12" x 24 1/2")
  (I prefer the foam but didn't have it at the time I made the mat)

How to make the mat

1. Cut a 25 1/2" x 25 1/2" piece from the vinyl fabric and fold in half.

2. Sew along all 3 sides leaving an opening big enough for the foam or batting to fit in

3. For each corner put seam on seam and sew a 1/2" corner off
   
4. Insert foam or batting

5. Hand sew the opening shut


You are done !!!
